A small gesture for a great result
UniCredit employees in Italy are invited to participate in Rest-Cent Italy by donating the last two digits of their monthly salary payment
In this complex period, we strive to remain close to territories, customers and local communities and to offer our support as a Bank.
That’s why we are launching Rest-Cent in Italy, an initiative through which colleagues can donate the cents from their net salary to a charitable organisation. The UniCredit Foundation will double all funds donated.
We have chosen to focus our attention on cancer patients, a category of people who have seen their quality of life and treatment possibilities particularly compromised by the COVID-19 emergency. All funds raised through the initiative until the end of September will be donated to the Fondazione ANT Italia Onlus, which provides free specialist medical assistance to cancer patients at home, free of charge.
Rest-Cent started life as a winning suggestion from an employee ideas competition and has been active at UniCredit in Germany since 2012. Donations are used to support two non-profit organisations each year, with all contributions doubled by the UniCredit Foundation. Since 2012, the initiative has raised more than €420,000. Rest-Cent is now being extended to Italy – also with donations matched by the Foundation.
Maurizio Beretta, Head of Group Institutional Affairs and Sustainability, commented: “I am very pleased that an initiative born from the enthusiasm of our German colleagues is spreading to other countries starting from Italy. I really think it is a beautiful expression of our spirit as One Team, One UniCredit”.
Participation in the initiative is on a voluntary basis and may be changed every month, by accessing People Focus.
