€61,000 for hospitals in Romania thanks to UniCredit employees and the UniCredit Foundation
UniCredit and its employees continue to support hospitals and healthcare workers across Europe. In addition to the Romania donation, recent contributions have been made in the Czech Republic and Slovakia
Thanks to an internal fundraising campaign, employee donations from UniCredit Bank, UniCredit Leasing, UniCredit Consumer Financing and UniCredit Services Romania have raised €61,000 for Romania hospitals. Donations were supplemented by a contribution from the UniCredit Foundation.
The funds will be used to purchase medical equipment and materials for the hospitals and health units involved in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, including Mangalia Municipal Hospital in Constanța County and “Sfântul Pantelimon” County Emergency Hospital in Focșani, Vrancea County.
In March, the bank donated €120,000 to Zi de bine Association to support the purchase of two high-performance ventilators for two Romanian hospitals.
Other donations from across the Group include more than €1.3 million to hospitals in Italy and €180,000 to five hospitals in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The bank has also offered interest free loans to healthcare workers in Italy and Germany.
