“We choose to go to the moon”
With support from Bank Austria, young people have submitted more than 850 ideas for a better world as part of the #beapirate Challenge
Together with UniCredit Bank Austria, the Moonshot Pirates initiative invited young people to sign up for the international #beapirate Challenge and use their skills to solve global challenges within the framework of the United Nations’ sustainability goals (SDG’s).
Over 850 participants aged between 15 and 19 from 30 countries had the opportunity to develop their ideas with the help of mentors before putting them to an online vote.
The seven best-rated teams will present their concepts to an international jury in an online pitch event on 1 July 2020. Shortlisted ideas include initiatives to minimise food waste, help visually people and provide online education to children in third world countries.
The winning team will get to meet established companies, successful start-ups and experienced entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley, as well as institutions such as Stanford University and Singularity University.
